A man from Australia who jumped across a fence and touched celebrity Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, aged 26, was sentenced to more than a week in jail for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," Singaporean immigration authorities stated to news outlets.

The man shoved past photographers and charged at the performer and artist, who was present at the regional launch for Wicked: For Good on the thirteenth of November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

The individual has a record of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including rushing the stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with many claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has discussed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her show in the UK city in May 2017 killed 22 individuals and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the authorities learned he had made efforts to breach on the film's premiere multiple times, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Event security prevented him and restrained him.

He then uploaded video clips thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "released."

Law enforcement took him into custody the next day and accused him with causing a disturbance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Presiding Judge the judicial official was referenced by Channel News Asia as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", adding that he was mistaken to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

The singer has not commented on the situation.

Erivo spoke about the event to NBC, remarking that she "only aimed to make sure my co-star was protected."

"I believe he didn't intend us injury, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I wanted to confirm that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
